Sometimes wandering the shelves is useful. If you can find one book on a topic, others like it will be sitting on the same shelf. Be sure to look at both the Reference collection on the first floor for general helps like encyclopedias, and at the circulating collection on the second floor for books you can take with you
Class M Music
M1+ Scores [third floor oversize shelves]
subclass ML Literature on music
ML159+ History and criticism
ML3800+ Physics and acoustics of music
subclass MT Instruction and study
MT170+ Instrumental techniques
MT918+ School music
Look at call numbers. In either the reference or circulating collections, if you can find one book on a subject that interests you, its placement in the call number system means that similar books will be sitting right around it on the shelf.
The Library owns and loans books from the collections on the second floor. We also have a reference collection whose material is always on-site. The library catalogue may be searched by anyone, but finding and downloading articles is typically restricted to SUU affiliates
