Undergraduate Library Media Endorsement
About
The Library Media Endorsement program provides the courses required for the Utah School Library Media License (K-12). The student must currently have, or be seeking, a valid Utah teaching license and receive a passing score on the Praxis II: Subject Assessment Test #5311 before being awarded final endorsement in Library Media.
Admission
Students must fill out and turn in the Library Media Application. Students must be admitted to the University and register (registrar's office: (435) 586-7715).
Requirements & Coursework
The undergraduate endorsement requires 18 credits and must be completed during the five years prior to application for license. Twelve credits must be taken through SUU. Below is the outlined coursework for the program.
LM 3100: School Library Media Foundations (1 credit)
LM 3120: Children's Literature (3 credits)
LM 3170: Technology for Library Media Teachers (3 credits)
LM 4160: Library Computer & Reference Skills (3 credits)
LM 4190: Managing a Media Center (3 credits)
LM 4200: Library Technical Services (3 credits)
LM 4890: Library Media Practicum (2 credits)
