Recreational Reads for Nurses

There are many benefits to reading fiction and non-fiction books for nurses and nursing students. Reading: 1) enhances empathy, 2) improves observational skills, 3) enhances critical thinking, 4) deepens understanding of diverse perspectives, 5) increases cultural competence, 6) better nurse-patient relationships, 7) improved communication, 8) more nuanced approach to healthcare, and 9) results in personal growth.
